Chelsea offers counselling for disordered eating including anorexia, bulimia, orthorexia and body image issues. She also works with people struggling with anxiety, depression, stress management concerns and trauma history.

Chelsea McGowan MCP RCC

Chelsea brings a wealth of experience in disordered eating counselling to support you in your journey. Before joining Juniper, Chelsea worked with both teens and adults struggling with mental health challenges, specifically eating disorders, anxiety, depression, and trauma in both agency and private counselling settings. She believes in the importance of holding a safe space to explore emotions, experiences, and struggles and views counselling as a great privilege.

Chelsea holds a Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology from Adler University and is registered with the BCACC as a Clinical Counsellor. She currently works as a therapist, contracted through CYMH, and is well versed and trained in the current practice and research including Emotion Focused Therapy for individuals and families, Attachment theory, Mindfulness approaches, and is DBT informed. Chelsea believes in the importance of the mind body connection and her years of training and experience has deepend Chelsea’s belief in the healing power of caregivers.

Chelsea is an Emotion Focused Family Therapy clinician, level one Gottman therapist, and has clinical experience working with physicians, dieticians, school care teams, and both inpatient and outpatient eating disorder hospital treatment centers.
