We are so excited to welcome Jules Ku-Lea to the Juniper team as our newest associate. Jules is a Registered Clinical Counsellor and a passionate Social Justice Advocate. She has worked with marginalized populations in Vancouver’s Downtown East Side and abroad. Jules has spent countless hours researching and analyzing the modern day horror of forced human labour. Worldwide, 27 million people today are trapped in slavery. Slavery lurks inside our refrigerators and pantries. Almost every product we consume has a hidden dark history. Jules was mortified when she learnt that some of her favourite foods were built on the backs of slaves. Now she’s crusading to reduce slave labour. Jules also offers counselling for anxiety(GAD, social anxiety, health anxiety). She also works with depression, stress management, postpartum depression, postpartum anxiety, trauma. Jules can help by offering guidance in discovering one’s unique life purpose. She works at Juniper Counselling in Coquitlam BC.

Jules Ku-Lea is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with a Master’s in Counselling Psychology from Adler University. Jules uses clinically tested and evidence-based interventions. Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT). She uses these to guide clients to happier and healthier states of being. Jules has worked in mental health and holistic healing for over a decade. She is a dedicated meditation practitioner and is certified in trauma sensitive yoga.

Jules is also a social justice advocate and has worked locally and internationally. She has supported with some of the most vulnerable and resilient populations. You can watch her Tedx talk here and see first hand her passion for people, social justice and wellness.
